Important Correspondence regarding our new clinical system

Important Information – New Patient Electronic Clinical System
We will be moving to a new clinical system on 25th October 2024. This means that we will be limited in what services we can provide to you from 15th October 2024 until 4th November 2024.
This change will help us to integrate our record keeping with other NHS organisations, so we can provide better, safer care for you. It will also offer you the chance to manage more of your own care online.
Your confidentiality will continue to be strictly protected and your consent will be sought before any information is shared.

THE SURGERY WILL BE CLOSED FROM 1:00PM ON FRIDAY 25TH OCTOBER 2024
How will this affect you?

We will be unable to book Routine Appointments with any Clinician from 15th October until 4th November 2024.Pre-bookable Routine Appointments will be available to book on or after 4th November 2024.

Prescriptions

Routine Prescriptions:
11th October 2024 is the last date we can accept Routine Prescription requests until on or after 25th October 2024.

Repeat Prescriptions:
We are politely asking Patients to submit their Repeat Prescription requests before 11th October 2024. The Pharmacy team are also working hard to ensure as many repeat prescriptions as possible are sent to pharmacies ahead of this date. Those due between 16th October and 4th November they will be honoured early.
Please note those with special prescription regimes are being arranged separately.

Urgent Prescriptions:
We will continue to process urgent prescription requests.

Pharmacy Stock Issues:
There are currently some medications with ongoing stock and supply issues. If your usual pharmacy is unable to source your medication, please contact other nearby pharmacies who may be able to source it. We will not be able to provide a prescription for an alternative medication unless you have already contacted neighbouring pharmacies.

Repeat Pharmacy Dispensed Prescriptions:
Any patients who have repeat prescriptions provided directly through their nominated Pharmacy will continue to receive their medication.
PLEASE NOTE: Any prescription issued between 15th October 2024 and 25th October 2024, will be a paper prescription that will need to be signed by a Pharmacist, GP or ACP and collected from the Surgery. Please bear with us as this is a slower process than our normal electronic system. system.
Documents:
From 15th October until 4th November 2024 no new documents will be added to your medical record. This is includes documents sent from secondary care, as well as any documents you bring into the surgery.
Referrals:
From 15th October until 4th November 2024 our Clinicians will only be able to make urgent referrals. Routine referrals will start being sent again from 28th October 2024.
eConsults (online consultations)
eConsults will be disabled from 18:30 on 15th October 2024 until 28th October 2024.

Patient Online Access

Patients who have access to their repeat access prescription and / or their coded medical record via the NHS App, and who proved / verified their identity via the NHS app, will temporarily lose access to this platform from 15th October 2024. Normal service is due to resume on or after 25th October 2024.

We strongly encourage patients who use Third Party Apps (e.g. Patient Access, Emis Mobile by Emis Health Account.) to their repeat access prescription and / or their coded medical record to download the NHS before 15th October 2024 and prove / verify their identity via the NHS App, in order to retain access to their features and ensure a smooth transition after 25th October 2024.

We believe that for those patients who have access to their repeat prescription and/or their coded medical record via the NHS App, but who verified their identity in surgery, the link between our clinical system and their NHS App may be permanently severed after 15th October 2024. In the event that this happens, we would encourage you to first try and download the NHS App and verify your identity online. If this is not possible, please bring your photo ID and proof of address into the surgery so we can reset your online access.
Registrations
We will be unable to process new registrations between 15th October 2024 and 28th October 2024.

Test Results

We will continue to receive test results 15th October 2024 and 28th October 2024, however please do not contact the surgery for your results during this time, as they will not be visible to the Reception team on your medical record. For results requiring urgent action, you will be contacted by the surgery.

We will only be doing urgent blood tests during this time.
