Special Services

Rotherfield Surgery & The Brook Health Centre is a member of the High Weald, Lewes and Havens Clinical Commissioning Group. We are contracted for the provision of general medical services which, in addition to those essential services, includes:

Cervical Smear Checks

Cervical screening is offered to all women aged 25-64 and is performed by the Practice Nurse. This should be routinely performed three or five yearly, depending on age. Patients are invited for screening by letter from the local health authority.

New Patient Check/NHS Health Check

All new patients are offered a health check on registration, but the offer is open to all our patients. The checks are usually conducted by our Healthcare Assistant, who offer advice on diet, weight, exercise, smoking, alcohol and stress control. They also check blood pressure and urine. Please ask the receptionist for details.

Family Planning Advice

This is provided by the doctors or practice nurses, and covers advice and provision of the range of contraceptive options available.

Child Health Checks And Child Immunisations

These are provided at regular intervals by the doctors, health visitor and practice nurse. The screening checks monitor growth, development and well-being of children. It is important for children to be immunised against childhood illnesses. If you have any doubts about this protection, please discuss these with your doctor.

Pneumonia vaccinations are given to patients 65 . A single vaccination is sufficient to provide protection.
